There are many resources available to help you if you need information or support with aspects of your life and health. And remember you can always make an appointment to speak to any GP alone or with a friend or family member.


Kooth – The kooth website offers confidential online and face to face support and counselling

Base 51 can offer Base 51 Counselling Service provides time and space for young people aged 12 to 25 to talk about their troubles and explore difficult feelings in an environment which is dependable, free from intrusion and confidential. Young people come to counselling for many issues including relationships, family issues, bullying, neglect, violence, abuse, anger, trauma, being self-critical, adoption, loss, foster-care, bereavement, sexuality, exploitation, drugs and alcohol, disordered eating, anxiety, panic, stress, depression, suicidal thoughts or self-harm to name a few

Healthforteens – an NHS service that offers information and support around emotions, health issues, lifestyle, relationships and sexual health. It also has links to local services in Nottingham

Healthy families – the local healthy families team run drop in sessions at many schools to offer help and support. They also have a confidential texting service which supports with issues such as bullying, emotional health and sexual health. Text:  07507 329952  

The Mix is a very detailed website for under 25s giving support and advice for all areas of life, health and mental health

The Childline website has loads of information about issues that affect young people


Sex and Relationships

Sexwise – this website gives free and confidential information about all aspects of sex and relationships

Information about sexually transmitted infections (STOs) can be found at

C Card scheme – this scheme runs in Nottinghamshire and gives young people access to condoms and confidential advice about sex, relationships, contraception and STIs

  Nottinghamshire Sexual Health Clinics give free, confidential advice. There is a clinic every day at Victoria Health Centre behind the Victoria shopping centre in Nottingham, and there is a clinic in Beeston at Hope House on a Wednesday 4.30-6.30 Please ring 0115 9627627 for an appointment

The Notts LGBT+ network offers support and information about sexuality and gender identity     Text: 07481344040

Help and support with unplanned pregnancies can be reached at or by phoning 03457304030

Nottingham Rape Crisis can be reached on 0115 9410440 and is for all people over 13 who need help and support around the issue of sexual assault or abuse


Drugs and Alcohol

Times of Crisis

Beat is a local organization that helps people who are struggling with their eating or their body image

Harmless is an organisation that can help those who feel the urge to self-harm

Young Minds provides 24/7 crisis support if you feel you are struggling. If you need urgent help text YM to 85258

The Samaritans are available 24 hours a day if you are in distress and in need of support   or phone 116123
